WHO WE ARE

MSD was originally set up as Organization and methods unit under the establishment secretariat, and later become part of the office of the Government Machinery. It was merged with the staff inspection unit of the establishment secretariat to form management services divisions in 1972. MSDs function and responsibilities were to conduct management consultancy and operational audit of ministries and departments and public boards and corporations either at the request of the institutions or a superior authority.

Following the recommendation of the commission on the structure and procedures of the civil service (Okoh commission), the division was made to focus its activities on improvements in the civil service and the outfit became one of the key division of the office of the head of civil service.

OUR MANDATE

MSD is a management consultancy organization set up to conduct management reviews, operational audits and systems and procedures studies in MDA’s, quasi government departments and public corporations with the view to bringing about improvements in their effectiveness, performance and service delivery which ultimately should bring about improvement in the lives of the people.
